Elite Strike Force

"Per Aspera Ad Astra” - Through Hardships to the Stars
Division CO - TBA
Division XO - TBA
Overview
Members of Starfleet Operations will be given a chance to "try out" to become "elite" members of the {UFP} Elite Strike Force within Star Trek: Online. This Elite team will have a limited number of members making these spots the most Elite in game we can offer.
In order to hold membership one must pass a highly difficult training/test curriculum, based around activities of PvP in STO. If you pass this test, you will be eligible for a place in the ESF if there is one available. However in order to keep ESF membership, others who have passed the test and who are awaiting a seat within it may challenge any member (most likely those who are felt the weakest in the group) to a test of skill. This again will have to be a prepared set of challenges. If they should succeed they will effectively take the ESF seat and the other member will be removed from the ESF. They can however challenge the same seat or another seat in the future... Formalized contests/tournaments will be organized to give everyone a chance to train, prepare and participate to give a chance to take on current ESF members. Then once completed, there will be a set-timeframe before another contest/tournament can begin. This would limit the amount of challenges and turnover to certain periods.
Within the ESF focus would be entirely on frequent PvP training and "live combat" with any enemies we should encounter. This may not necessarily be limited to Federation players and can easily encompass Klingon players as well.
It's hoped that having an "elite" band in the UFP will show outside potentials that we are serious about being a fleet not to be trifled with. Some love their RPGs, others prefer the casual game, but we must not forget to appeal to the hardcore PvP group.
We need to make the ESF an exclusive and prestigious organization within the UFP. But also one we can effectively deploy in times of competition and war.
This is a future project that will be developed as we continue towards STO launch. Please feel free to provide feedback and constructive comments to help us better pre-pare and develop the ESF.
