General Information

Today, the {UFP} still stands by its core values, more than seven years since its founding. Over the years, we've picked up a diverse set of members from across the globe, from countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and much more. Our member base made up of many age groups, anywhere from teens to adults in their 40's, all with a common goal, to enjoy Star Trek gaming from many brands and types. We've since expanded into a wide range exciting new features and methods for communication and socialization, including social networking on Facebook, Twitter, Steam, Xfire, YouTube, and Live Groups in addition to our own chatroom and video broadcasting.
Every member of the fleet is encouraged to participate in any one of our many gaming divisions of supported games, and our managerial departments, and in as many as they wish. Each division and department has a Commanding Officer (CO), an Executive Officer (XO), and their own sub-forums.
Our gaming divisions consist of:
• Starfleet Falcons (Bridge Commander)
The Starfleet Falcons are our primary division for all of our members who wish to play Bridge Commander. The division is active and exciting, tournaments are held, and fun, interactive training sessions are held regularly. All members are welcome to join this division as long as they possess and play a copy of Star Trek: Bridge Commander!
• Starfleet Harriers (RPG-X2)
The Starfleet Harriers are our primary division for all of our members who wish to play the game Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force with the modification RPG-X2. In this division, we not only hold regular Serial Roleplays, but we have a trained admin team and a highly active roleplaying community. All members are welcome to join this division as long as they possess and play a copy of Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force with RPG-X2.
• Starfleet Operations (Star Trek: Online)
Starfleet Operations is our primary division for the upcoming game Star Trek: Online. This division is broken down by timezones, and supports both Federation and Klingon players! Accepted new members are immediately granted an enlisted rank of Crewman 3rd Class. Every few months, at the United Federation of Planets Award Ceremony, certain members are promoted for their service, and awards are given out. Progression through the ranks of the {UFP} are normally given during these events, although there are exceptions.
Every member in the United Federation of Planets is bound by a set of rules called the Code of Conduct. Members who have taken academy courses have familiarized themselves with this set of rules. Most of them are simply common sense, and are very simply put together. The Code of Conduct can be found here.
Similar to in Star Trek itself, once you're a member of Starfleet, you can go up in ranks and gain positions like everyone else. Currently, while we wait for Star Trek Online to be released, there are two ways a person can go up in the UFP,
All members are required to go through the Academy to take the CORE program which is based for every new member to go through. It consists of some very minimum and basic trainings for members of the UFP, like learning the CoC, the chain of command, the history of the UFP, etc. Enlisted members must take this course if they wish to progress pass Crewman 1st class.
Once the previous course is completed, members will then be asked to take certain other courses, depending on which division they are in. These courses teach the member different skills in their game or field, and learn new tactics and such. To find out more about the academy, go here.
Of course, becoming more involved in the fleet is a major point for some members. If you want to take a step above casual gaming, and help out the UFP as a whole, you're welcome to apply for important and needed positions in the UFP. These can be in any division or department from Internal Affairs to the Harriers, or wherever we need staff.
In addition to the skills that you can learn by joining the UFP, new members also are granted a wide variety of features and benefits. The UFP currently hosts its own RPG-X server. In addition, the UFP has many official groups in/on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Xfire, Steam, and Windows Live. Through these, our members can meet other peers and experienced professionals in their own gaming division. And, the UFP offers a free email service to all members, one that you can use to send and receive emails, and register on MSN. Every UFP member is offered an officially customized and designed signature here, and is allowed to use an avatar from their position here.
By default, any clan or organization of any sort we encounter is deemed as neutral. This means that although we are aware of this clan's or organization's existance, and may have engaged in contact or other activities with them, we have no official ties to them and there are no treaties in place between us. We do have treaties with certain fleets and organizations, more information about our policy and the Diplomatic Corps. can be found here.
If you would like to learn more about the {UFP}, please visit our Help Desk here or feel free to ask any member directly.
