FAQ

What does {UFP} stand for?
The {UFP} (United Federation of Planets) is a 6+ year veteran of the Star Trek gaming scene. We've built up a solid player community in that time and a good reputation in the wider community. Our command structure is a seasoned one, made up of the most dedicated and long lasting members. Our membership comprises of many ages from teens to those in their 20's, 30's and 40's, and also from all over the world (Australia, USA, UK, Canada, Iceland, the Baltic countries and many more).
We've been fortunate in recent months to recruit some highly capable new members who have shown great vision and ideas for our Star Trek: Online (ST:O) Division. We're excited over the prospects and determined to create an ST:O Fleet our members can be proud of. Our ST:O Command usergroup (comprised of new and older members) is busy working with the information we have now to construct the finer details of our ST:O Division. However the {UFP} is open to all members input, whatever their rank or position. We will also support members who play, either or both, as characters in the Klingon Faction, and or Federation Faction. We like to allow for the maximum amount of freedom while still playing in a fun team environment.
Our rank structure is mature and valid, in that advancement has a direct correlation to involvement, both in game and out... you get out what you put in is our general policy. This ensures we maintain a stable and respected Chain of Command. With 6 years under our belt, you can be assured we are in it for the long haul.
What rules other than no dual clanning does the {UFP} have to be a member?
The {UFP} operates under a Code of Conduct (CoC). The Code of Conduct outlines the expected behavior of members, and a variety of other rules. You must also report in for roll calls sometime during the first week of every month. As long as you follow the Code of Conduct and fill in the roll calls every month, your membership is secure.

Will there be minimum required participation in fleet events, such as raids, and will members not participating risk demotion?
Since STO is not released we don't have definites for group events such as raids. However we at the {UFP} strive to make all Star Trek gaming a fun and enjoyable experience with a strong team of members as support. We may take to giving more recognition to those who consistently participate or organize such events, but no one is required to participate if they don't want to, or simply don't have the time. More will be disclosed as we gain more information.
What is the {UFP}'s thoughts on casual gamers?
The only you're required to do, to keep your membership active, is posting in the 'Roll Call' thread once a month. We have quite a few members with school & family responsibilities, all we ask is that if life becomes a little hectic and you need some time out, simply shoot us a quick LoA (leave of absence) message and your membership will be secure until you return. Only in extreme cases of absence beyond that LoA will result in possible membership loss.
If I join, can other members of my family join, as well?
Everyone can apply to join, and we rarely decline applications. You can be almost certain that members of your family and friends can join!
What kind of behavior does the fleet reward? (PVP victories, helping newbies, fleet donations, etc)

The {UFP} has been built on mutual respect and we are happy to say it works very well.
